To whom it may concern Ever since my dear friend of 35 years xxx came to Gordon Lodge in August 2022 I have wholeheartedly recommended it everyone. It is a small home with a very big heart. A home for xxxx rather than just a room with a bed. Always clean floors no smells unlike so many care homes. xxxx was by turns very rude then charming to the staff they took his moods in their stride with great kindness good nature and expertise. The manager Diane Fleming gives Gordon Lodge this ethos of care. I have always believed that you can send staff on numerous courses. Her staff are obviously well trained. You can get them to fill in forms that tick all the boxes, but the example can only come from the top if you want such kind, considerate and warm-hearted staff She is a great example of giving all in care the things that really matter, Fresh flowers at the door freshly cooked food a fresh cheerful welcome I am so thankful to have found such a lovely home for him.

Dear all at Gordon Lodge Since Mum arrived at Gordon Lodge one year ago she has been treated with the utmost care and compassion from all of the staff. Knowing that Mum is in a safe and secure environment and being very well cared for gives our family great peace of mind. When I have visited I have found on all occasions the staff to be warm and friendly, helpful & very caring and get the feeling of being in a family atmosphere. Thank you all for looking after Mum. Dear Diane, I received a call today to discuss if we were happy with my nan’s care xxxxxxxxxxx The simple answer is Yes, my nan has been cared for with Love and Dignity from the day she arrived. The staff have been kind, caring and open to conversa on about concerns and behavioural issues. I was recently with my nan (Sunday 1st Dec) where the staff was amazing, in light of my nan’s decline due to her ongoing health conditions. Upon arrival Wendy came to find me to update me on the ART Teams assessment and let me know that the home was monitoring nan and supporing her to drink more fluids / eat and any upcoming appointments she has. When my nan woke, I let Jenny know my nan would like a cup of tea and Jenny brought is immediately and supported her in drinking what she felt comfortable taking. There was a chart next to her bed which detailed all the times they had been in to her and how much she had drunk. My nan’s room and communal areas are always clean and well presented. The staff are approachable and always have me for an update. Sharon calls me regularly to update me on my nans health and any concerns she is having or decision that need to be made about her care. I am happy with the care my nan is receiving and the kind people she has to support her as she becomes frailer. Kind regards

To whom It may concern, xxxmy dads cousin was in a desperate state after losing his wife of 50 years and then during Covid deteriorated more so my dad as his only remaining relative wanted to bring him closer to us and found Gordon Lodge. xxxx has been a resident there for 3 years and is like a new person. He is extremely well cared for and is always dressed and clean shaven. The staff are patient and attentive. We receive regular phone calls and updates on xxxx and are well informed. When we visit we are always made to feel welcome . I would recommend Gordon lodge to anyone needing to house an elderly, lonely relative. I would like to reassure you and your team, that we are happy with the standard of care xxxxx has had and is receiving from your team. As her POA I have had no cause to be concerned. What my family particularly like is the homely, caring atmosphere lives in. We know she is safe and that you would contact us immediately were you to have any concerns and when we had queries in the early days you or your team have been in touch with us promptly. We felt genuinely reassured with xxxxx 's care.

RE: Gordon Lodge Rest Home, 43 Westgate Bay Avenue,

Please find this letter as genuine recognition of the exemplary care given to my mother who has resided at the above rest home since August 2020. My mother has Alzheimer’s disease and suffers with high anxiety and speech deterioration along with a number of other challenging behavioural issues. When she first moved to Gordon Lodge it was during COVID lockdown and the transition was so smooth; the impact was managed well and she settled in very quickly. I have seen, first hand the care and compassion that the staff show the residents, and my mother is clearly happy and content. Her physical, mental and emotional needs are always cared for quickly and I am always kept up to date with any changes or incidents, including any management changes I may need to be aware of. My mother has her own room with a separate toilet facility, and it is always clean and tidy. Here, she is able to have some space away from others if she needs to, but she is still sociable so prefers the company of others. The communal areas always feel safe and welcoming. My mum, and other residents I have encountered are always treated with respect and dignity and I am confident in Gordon Lodge ability to deal with any situation professionally and appropriately.

I am writing to thank the care staff for the friendly and supportive care they provide for my mum, xxxxx xxxxxx. I understand that you have received negative feedback from a recent inspection and I know how demoralising this must be for the staff. I am a regular visitor to my mum and whilst I am there I can see what you all have to deal with and I think you do a great job in very trying circumstances. I am certainly sure that you are providing the best care for my mum and that she is in good hands.
